It stars Sigourney Weaver, Carrie Henn, Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton. Aliens is about Ripley who was the only survivor of the Nostromo and was discovered in deep sleep half a century later by a salvage ship. When she is taken back to Earth, she learns that a human colony was founded on the same planet where the aliens were discovered too. After contact with the colony is gone, she ends up getting sent back to the planet with a team of warriors trying to destroying the alien menace forever, and saving any survivors that remain.
It has an IMDB rating of 8.4 stars, whereas Roger Ebert gave it 3.5/4 stars and gave a quite negative review: "The movie made me feel bad. It filled me with feelings of unease and disquiet and anxiety. I walked outside and I didn't want to talk to anyone. I was drained. I'm not sure "Aliens" is what we mean by entertainment. Yet I have to be accurate about this movie: It is a superb example of filmmaking craft." Whereas RottenTomatoes.com gave it a positive 98%!
This fits into the Thriller theme by the intense and violent scenes throughout, the dark element and settings, and it leaves audiences thinking & feeling mixed emotions afterwards.
