The opening of Silence of the Lambs created a lot of tension. This was through many aspects such as the slow paced editing to lead us to a build up and by also creating an image of Hannibal's cruel character in our head before we even met him. There were also many other aspects which contributed to this freaky opening, these are shown in the mind map below.
